Celtic Connection Product Review
The newest brand to be added to our expanding range of high-quality pet foods is Celtic Connection.
We first met Linda, the creator of Celtic Connection, at Crufts in March. Her range of dry dog and cat foods immediately caught our attention as they offered something unique that we had not seen in the pet trade before. It wasn’t long before we had placed our first order and we are now one of the first stockists in the UK to offer Celtic Connection to our customers.
Much like all of our other brands, Celtic Connection is a natural, high-quality pet product. In fact, every ingredient including the supplements and nutritional additives are from natural sources. The entire range of dog and cat food is grain-free, with the dog food available in four different flavours, and the cat food available in three.
As well as boasting a high meat content (70% for dogs and 80% for cats), each bag of Celtic Connection contains therapeutic levels of different botanicals. The purpose of these ingredients is to provide support to your pet’s health. Some pets foods already include similar ingredients, but the difference is that in some cases the amounts are minimal, and do not provide the same level of benefits.
Our favourite added botanical to Celtic Connection is turmeric, a spice with a multitude of health benefits. You can read more about the benefits of turmeric in a previous blog post here.
Something that certainly sets Celtic Connection’s dry cat food apart from its competitors is its added joint protection. With 1,900mg/kg of glucosamine, 1,500mg/kg of chondroitin sulphate, and 1,500mg of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), it has higher levels of joint care than any other dry cat food we have seen on the market. We are strong believers that cats need joint care in their diets too, especially senior cats and larger breeds such as Maine Coons.
Celtic Connection’s flavours follow the single source protein philosophy, but with a unique twist. Each flavour is a combination of two very similar proteins. In some pets, especially dogs, consistently feeding a single protein can lead to them developing an allergic reaction over time. By combining similar proteins, Celtic Connection minimises this risk while still providing food that is suitable for pets with existing protein allergies.
Celtic Connection’s unique formula for dry pet food is certainly worth considering for your own pet, especially if you have a pet with allergies or health conditions that would benefit from its added botanicals.
